Cape Coast, Ghana - May 2001

"The next stop was a visit to the Fante paramount chief of Cape Coast and the regional house of chiefs. When we saw the room the visit would take place in, I began to panic and wonder how I could make it through another hour and a half in the sweltering heat. But I prayed and felt much better. The visit was amazing. We sang hymns for the chief and he spoke to us in English (without the use of his linguist.) We sang "High on the Mountain Top" and "Lead Kindly, Light." Dr. Staheli was inspired to choose the latter because it was one of the chief's favorites and he sang with us. "
