We started the morning with rehearsal in an LDS church in which Dr. Crane served on his mission! He met up with some members that he met all those years ago. This was our final rehearsal of the trip— we’re all set for our remaining performances!

After rehearsal, we all enjoyed an adventure in Venice! Since Venice is mostly a tourist destination and not a residential area, our hotel is just outside of the city. We rode the bus to a ferry dock and took a boat to the island. Upon our arrival, we attended a Venetian glass blowing demonstration. The tour guide took us through a gallery of breathtaking glass creations and showed us some purchase options.

Singers then departed in groups for exploration time and lunch. Lots of Singers decided to visit historical sites and monuments associated with famous composers. For example, Igor Stravinsky and his wife are buried in Venice, along with Baldassare Galluppi, one of the composers of our competition pieces. A group of Singers were able to visit their graves. Other options for sight-seeing were the beautiful St. Mark’s Cathedral, the Teatro la Fenice, or simply taking a scenic boat ride through the city. Other Singers opted to spend the day shopping, as Venice is known for lace, leather, glass, and paper production.

We all met up in the early evening for our last video shoot for the Vivaldi. The site was right across the river from a hotel. Nick Sales was able to get some beautiful shots of the Singers with the sun shining behind us. That was a wrap on the music video!

After the video shoot, we all walked back about 20 minutes to where our bus was parked. Most of us grabbed a quick dinner on the way. It had been a long day, so we were given the remainder of the evening to rest up for tomorrow.
