Tour- 2007 South Africa

Wednesday, May 16

Wake-up calls came at 4:30 a.m. and the bus was boarded at 5:30 a.m. We finally arrived at Durban after 8 p.m. That pretty much says it all. The two border crossings in and out of Swaziland went as smoothly as possible, but did take time. Most of that country seems to be under road construction, and that added hours.

We did stop at a school for a quick performance that was enjoyed by Singers and the children. They joined in 'If You're Happy and You Know It...' and many knew 'This Little Light of Mine' and sang along. We also had a 20 minute stop at a market that was very welcome--we've been too busy to do much shopping so far.

It was a joy to finally get off the bus at the mission home in Durban. They had a marvelous braai prepared for us, and all the food was quickly eaten. We met the host families, and were off to get settled for THREE nights. That is a welcome respite from the one city, one night that we have had most of tour so far.
