Wrapping up Tour in Dublin
We have arrived in Dublin, and are in our rooms in a hotel near the airport. There might be a few getting in a last wander before we have our Irish Night at a place that promises Irish music, dinner, and a show. This seems like a good way to spend our last evening. We will leave for the airport early tomorrow morning to begin our journey home back to the family, spouses, and other loved ones left behind. As wonderful as every tour is, it is a sacrifice both for those at home as well as the choir—but well worth it.

Day Five as the Cork International Choral Festival Winds Down
Today was totally a schedule given to us by the festival. We were slated to officially begin the day with an 11 am Mass at the Church of Christ Our Light in Ballincollig, just a 10 minute walk from our hotel. They graciously allowed us to rehearse there twice before the festival competition, so this was a little thanks from us.

Day Four of the Cork International Choral Competition
It's very late in Cork, and it's been quite a day. The choir had a later than usual breakfast to allow for more sleep on the day of the actual competition. They had a short rehearsal late morning, mostly just a few reminders and perfecting a very few spots that still needed tiny adjustments. By now they have been working on and performing this repertoire for so long it has become part of their DNA. All that was left was the performance. AND THE SUN CAME OUT to make the day even better!

Day Three of the Cork International Choral Festival
We rose early, breakfasted, and were on the bus to Cobh in Cork County by 8:30 am. Our goal was Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh (I'll let you figure out how to say that), a primary (elementary to us) school of over 700. It is the largest primary school in Cork County. It was founded by the Mercy Sisters in 1860 on the grounds of Rushbrooke Convent, adjacent to the Convent Farm.

Day Two of the Cork International Choral Festival
Today began with another filling Irish breakfast. Since there were not as many group activities today, let's discuss our breakfast a bit.

On the road to Cork
Today we were breakfasted, packed, and loaded onto our coach for a precise departure time of 9 am. This choir is punctual! We drove 2 1/2 hours to the Athenry Dominican Priory (pronounced prio-rye) which is really a ruin—though a very interesting ruin.

Day Two in Dublin
Today began with a little free time—some slept to recover from our travel, while others saw as much of Dublin as they could before we met to drive to our Sheep Experience (so labeled on the itinerary...) Those who had breakfast at our hotel were treated to an Irish breakfast, far above the offering at any USA Holiday Inn Express! It also served as lunch for many.

Arriving in Dublin
We left Provo Saturday morning far before bright and early, though early certainly applied. We were on the road to the airport at 6 am, arrived, checked in, and waited a bit to embark on the plane. Both flights went well—they stayed in the air and landed on time. You cannot ask for much more! We explored the large Logan airport in Boston before our second flight; staying mobile was fast becoming the only way to stay awake.
