This is our final day of tour before the marathon trip home that will essentially take two days, but the time change brings us back the day we leave. Pretty tricky, that.

Monday, May 25 - Kaufberen and Isny im Allgäu, Germany
This morning the choir left early-ish to be at the Lutheran Kaufbeuren St. MartinKirche for their 10 am Pentacostal service. We were not sure what to expect, and the experience far exceeded our expectations.

Sunday, May 24 - Marktoberdorf and Irsee, Germany
As the Musica Sacra International festival continues, this morning the choir participated in a workshop for the participants of the festival. Sixteen of the choir sat on the stage to help with some demonstrations, while Dr. Crane fielded questions about the choral area of BYU: how many choirs, how many participants, how are auditions handled, how many audition each year, etc.

Saturday, May 23 - Marktoberdorf and Kempten, Germany
Today was divided into two parts. We began very, very early to drive to Linderhof, a palace built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. For a palace, it’s quite a modest size…but all the gold leafing places it squarely in the range of kings. It was quite beautiful, and I think everyone enjoyed the tour.

Friday, May 22 - Marktoberdorf, Germany
Marktoberdorf is a lovely Bavarian town in architecture and all the gardens and trees. It’s fun to explore a little. Below is an image shot through a slightly dirty hotel window, but still gives you an idea. The church at the top of the hill is next to the BMM campus.

Thursday, May 21 - Salzburg, Austria to Marktoberdorf, Germany
Greetings from our last stop on tour. This will be brief as so many did different things during the morning hours. Small groups wandered all over Salzburg; several ran into the Uchtdorfs as they did the same!

Wednesday, May 20 - Vienna, Austria to Salzburg, Austria
We left Vienna this morning to drive to Salzburg. Our coach driver was required to take a 45-minute break, so he found an incredible “rest stop” that was a restaurant, gelato and pastry shop, snack shop, and gift store. Maverick would faint if they had this as competition. The choir really enjoyed that stop!

Tuesday, May 19 - Vienna, Austria
This was a fun day—our only day in Vienna! It’s pretty challenging to even plan what to do when time is so limited. The choir split into many smaller groups for their adventures. Some hit the museums, some just walked around, many found shopping, many more found gelato, and one small group decided to see as many churches as possible and sing in each. I hear they managed 12 before needing to head back to get into their concert gear.

Monday, May 18 - Travel from Lahti, Finland to Vienna, Austria
It doesn’t seem as if getting from Lahti to Helsinki to Amsterdam to Vienna to finding all our luggage to finding our hotel would be that difficult, right?!? It was a long day.

Saturday, May 16 - Lahti, Finland
Today has been a very full day for the choir! It of course began with a gorgeous breakfast, in a huge room that seems to be more crowded every day. Either they are really filling the hotel, or they serve breakfast to all the hotels around. One has to watch carefully to pounce on an empty place to set up.
