May 1: Jakarta
We've had a phenomenal first day in addition to a day-and-a-half of travel as we begin another international tour for BYU Singers. This year's tour to Indonesia and Vietnam is the first international tour under the direction of Dr. Andrew Crane.

May 2: Jakarta
This was a day full of new friends, exciting and memorable performances, and, of course, sightseeing. We started off the day with a wonderful breakfast prepared by the hotel.

May 3: Bandung
Compared to our last few days of being in Indonesia, today was a rather relaxing day. We all had to wake up around 5:30 AM in order to be on time to catch our train from Jakarta to Bandung, our next tour destination.

May 4: Bandung
After our day of rest yesterday, we were ready for another day of our tour of Southeast Asia! We began the day with a breakfast provided by our hotel with many different rice dishes alongside meats such as chicken, beef, and pork.

May 5: Surakarta
Traveling was the name of this fifth day of our international tour. We began with an early morning in Bandung where we ate breakfast at our hotel and then immediately boarded the bus to drive to the airport in Jakarta.

May 6: Yogyakarta
We began this lovely Sunday with a big breakfast at our hotel in Surakarta. Right after breakfast, the choir met together for a warm-up in a conference room within the hotel.

May 7: Yogyakarta
We began today with a very early morning—we met together at 3:30AM to drive about an hour to see a magnificent sunrise from the Borobudur Buddhist temple.

May 8: Yogyakarta
This morning began with breakfast at the hotel before heading out to begin our sightseeing for the day. We first visited the Sultan's palace—the residence for the king of Yogyakarta.

May 9: Bali
Early this morning we gathered our belongings together to head off for our sixth flight of tour thus far. We flew out of the very small Yogyakarta airport to a very popular tourist destination—Bali.

May 10: Bali
Bali is Bali. This is a common saying among the locals on the island to describe how beautiful and unique the island is, and we were able to experience a small part of that beauty today.

May 11: Hanoi
We have now officially completed the Indonesia chapter of this international tour. We woke up this morning and were immediately off to the airport after a quick breakfast.

May 12: Hanoi

May 13: Hanoi
We had another beautiful Sunday today and had a lot of opportunities to make lasting friendships. Fortunately, we had some time this morning to relax and catch up on some missed sleep from the previous days of our tour.

May 14: Hanoi
We began with a slow start today. The crazy tour schedule has left a few members of the choir with mild illnesses, so Dr. Crane and our tour manager Rex Barrington were able to rearrange our schedule to give us a long morning to relax and sleep in.

May 15: Hanoi
This is our last day in Hanoi, and it was definitely one to remember! This morning we began sightseeing at 7:30AM. Our first destination was the Temple of Literature.

May 16: Ha Long Bay
We began at 7:30AM this morning by boarding our buses and driving to Ha Long Bay where we will spend tonight and tomorrow morning on a cruise ship. We stopped about halfway to our destination for a pit stop at a market close to the highway. Here, we were able to buy some snacks and a few members of the choir took this opportunity to purchase souvenirs as well. We then drove two more hours until we arrived in the beautiful Ha Long Bay.

May 17: Ho Chi Minh
We began this morning in Ha Long Bay aboard the cruise ship. We were taken to a small island with steps that lead up to a cave, and we were able to go inside and look around. The view from the top of the island was stunning, especially with the early morning sun. After we returned to the boat, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast before returning to the city to board our bus.

May 20: Ho Chi Minh
Today felt very familiar as it was similar to that of last Sunday during our time in Hanoi. We had some time this morning to rest and prepare for our day after which we went to lunch at a beautiful restaurant.

May 21: Ho Chi Minh
We have officially completed the final day of our international tour to Indonesia and Vietnam, and we spent this last day by visiting the Mekong Delta near Ho Chi Minh City. When we arrived, we boarded small boats which took us to a little village across the river. There, we saw a small factory where coconut candies of many varieties are produced, and we all had an opportunity to purchase several packages of this candy.
